How it Started
Redeemer Church was established by the Engage Network in January 2014, with Jaysson Gurwell and his family called to lead the church. A group of 9 dedicated families came together to help launch the church, which held its first public service on September 14, 2014.
The Engage Network consists of several churches across Iowa, including Saylorville Church in North Des Moines, Lakeside Fellowship in Polk City, Living Waters Fellowship in South Des Moines, High Pointe Church in Altoona, Redeemer Church in Winterset, New City Church in Ankeny, Ballard Creek Church in Huxley, and Eden Church in North Des Moines. Established by Saylorville in 2005, the network’s mission is “Gospel-centered churches planting Gospel-centered churches.”
